Dan’s work in the wilderness treatment began back in 2000. He worked his way to Senior Instructor and then transitioned into the position of Logistics Coordinator wherein he developed his wilderness therapy skills. As Logistics Coordinator Dan spent his time problem solving and coaching staff in the field. Dan is an expert in wilderness living and his organizational skills are an invaluable asset to the company. Dan is Currently working for Star Guides as the Assistant Field Director and Logistics Coordinator. This requires him to assist in running the field department but also allows him the opportunity to not only continue developing staff, but also directly engaging with students as they progress through the program. Seeing kids heal through the power of the wilderness keeps him going. Dan is known to the students as “White Owl” and is always a welcome site to groups as he arrives to the field bringing food and supplies. When not working you will find Dan in the outdoors weather he is camping with his family, fishing, rock climbing, or out with the horses, he can not get enough of nature.
